Job Title: Mandarin speaking Operations - Loan

The Skills You'll Need: Fluent Mandarin and English, with relevant Operations experience in Corporate Banking sector

Your New Salary: £50-65k depending on experience + bonus

Job Status: Permanent, hybrid working (1 day WFH)

Report to: Head of Operations Department

Operations, Loan - Summary:

  • Operation of wholesale banking loan products, which may include but are not limited to bilateral loans, syndicated loans, international clearing, etc.
  • Establish the framework and processes for all loan operation functions. Administer and perform the day-to-day operations of the Branch, including transaction input and verification, documentation checks, ensuring all required conditions are met prior to drawdown, and managing and maintaining custodial records and relevant documents. Liaise with internal and external customers and Head Office departments as necessary to fulfill the role.
  • Perform the operational functions for opening client accounts and maintaining customer account files.
  • Interact with and provide support for other members of the operations team, covering treasury operations, clearing, and trade finance.
  • Perform any other duties as directed by the Head of Operations or Senior Management.

Operations, Loan - What You'll be Doing:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day processing of loan products including transaction input and administration of facilities and documentation.
  • Manage payments preparation, funds transfer for loan products.
  • Ensure that loans are disbursed only after contractual terms and conditions have been met and all required documents have been received.
  • Review loan contracts to understand specific terms related to interest rates, payment schedules, and any clauses affecting interest adjustments. Calculate and adjust interest as needed.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely agreement and reporting of all currency movements related to loans to the front-line departments.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day monitoring of the SWIFT message queues related to loans.
  • Perform monitoring and management of Nostro accounts and process daily reconciliation.
  • Responsible for preparation all required reports and Management Information (M.I.) related to loans.
  • Provide operational support and coverage to other operational functions including treasury operations, clearing and trade finance.
  • Keep the Business Continuity Plan updated for the loan products.

Operations, Loan - The Skills You'll Need to Succeed:

Essential:

  • Fluent Mandarin and English in spoken and written
  • Working experiences on bank Operations roles.
  • Good knowledge of wholesale banking products.
  • Experienced in wholesale banking loan management, Including but not limited to loan disbursement, entry, interest rate adjustment, repayment, etc.
  • Understanding of payments scheme, as CHAPS and SWIFT.
  • Solid understanding of the payment system including Interbank Clearing, Nostro account reconciliation and CHAPS process.
  • Understanding of regulatory impact on all operational processes.
  • Strong problem solving and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Able to build effective relationships across the business.

Desirable:

  • Good knowledge of operational resilience.
  • Good knowledge of the UK Regulatory (CASS, SYSC, COBS) requirements and Outsourcing arrangements and concepts.
  • Ability to multitask.
