About the Role:We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Medical Officer to join a vibrant secondary school in the London Borough of Wandsworth commencing immediately. As part of our school's health and wellbeing team, the Medical Officer will play a key role in providing first aid and medical care to students and staff, promoting health and safety, and supporting the physical and emotional wellbeing of our school community.Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide first aid and emergency medical treatment to students and staff as required.
  • Monitor and manage the care of students with ongoing medical needs (e.g., asthma, diabetes, allergies, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student health records, ensuring confidentiality.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and healthcare professionals to ensure the health and wellbeing of students.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of health-related education and initiatives in the school.
  • Maintain and regularly check first aid kits and medical supplies.
  • Work closely with the school's pastoral and safeguarding teams to support students with additional health or emotional needs.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
  • A valid First Aid at Work certificate is compulsory.
  • Previous experience in a medical or healthcare role, preferably within a school or educational setting.
  • A strong understanding of child safeguarding and health and safety policies.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff.
  • The ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
  • A caring and empathetic approach to supporting young people.
