Attega Group is currently partnering exclusively with our client in recruiting an MSC Engineer.

The main purpose of this role is to carry out planned and reactive maintenance on equipment within the sterile and decontamination plant services for the NHS Trust, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, minimal downtime, and optimal operational efficiency. The role includes completing scheduled maintenance tasks, responding to breakdowns, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.

In return, our client is offering a salary of up to £50,000 P/A, depending on experience, plus 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, bonus based on individual performance and company performance, pension scheme and many more.

This is a full-time role working 45 hours a week, Monday – Friday with weekend availability.

Reporting to the Lead Engineer, your responsibilities will be:

  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Complete daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual maintenance tasks as per SFG20/FMFirst schedules.
  • Reactive Maintenance: Respond promptly to breakdowns and faults to restore equipment functionality with minimal disruption.
  • Subcontractor Coordination: Liaise with key subcontractors for both planned and reactive maintenance to maintain compliance and service levels.
  • Compliance & Health and Safety: Ensure all maintenance work adheres to policies, industry regulations, and health & safety standards.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, service reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains in equipment maintenance.

The ideal candidate:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in equipment maintenance within a healthcare or sterile services environment.
  • Strong understanding of SFG20/FMFirst maintenance scheduling.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Experience in working with decontamination and sterilisation equipment.
  • Health and Safety qualifications (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH).
  • Familiarity with NHS Estates guidelines and compliance frameworks.
