Our client is a niche business travel company based in Islington North London, which is close to The Angel tube station. They are seeking an assistant for their accounts department. The company is boutique as it deals with the music industry as well as corporate clients so it is a busy, friendly company.

The role will involve the reconcile of credit card statements, chasing hotels by phone and email for copies of invoices, ensuring that internal paperwork is received from their travel consultants, chasing hotels for payments and keeping the ledgers up to date with queries and amendments. The role also involves speaking with hotels with regard to outstanding commission, raising invoices for commission owed, keeping the department's filing up to date and answering calls for the department and also direct calls. Where possible, allocate payments on sundry account & WPS account. Email progress report (spreadsheet format) for hotel collections - to show payments promised, queries etc. to credit controller.

General

To keep up to date with queries from hotels regarding commission, assist credit controller with basic queries that may arise. Keep stock/filing cupboard tidy and in order, archiving. Once a year to move old filing boxes and folders to storage space they have rented. This usually involves loading a car/van with boxes and folders and unloading on the other end. Take paying into the Bank, this may also involve collection of money e.g. currency etc.. To assist any person in accounts that may have an extra workload.

You will need to have excellent customer service skills, be used to liaising with people at all levels and have some administrative skills.
