Job Role: SEN Outreach 1-1 Tutor

Salary: 25-35 Per hour

Hours: Very flexible, ranges from 1 hour a week up to 35 hours a week.

Remedy Tutors are looking for SEN Tutors to support some of our students based in Newham, East London; you will be teaching them core subjects, basic life skills and sensory play. The hours vary, some students are allocated 1 hour a week of tuition whereas some other are allocated up to 25 hours, it would be up to you how many hours you'd like to take on.

The ideal candidates will:

  • Have QTS/ PGCE / A relevant teaching qualification
  • Be eligible to work in the UK.
  • Passion for work with children with SEN needs.
  • Understand the complexities around SEND.
  • Be able to liaise with both SENCO and parent/ guardians regarding pupil's progress or any concerns.
  • Experience working within an SEN setting especially with ASD, DLD, ADHD and Trauma Support
  • Have strong behavioural management skills.
  • Be passionate about teaching and working with children.


Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the child to assess their individual educational needs and create a personalised learning plan to support their academic progress.
  • Provide educational support and guidance to the child, including tutoring, homework help, and guidance on study skills and time management.
  • Work closely with the foster carers to ensure that the child's educational needs are being met within the foster home setting.
  • Build positive relationships with the child and provide emotional support and encouragement as needed.
  • Monitor the child's progress and provide regular feedback to the foster carers and school staff.
