Introduction

We are looking for a high calibre Paraplanning Supervisor to join the growing team of of this national IFA practice. The ideal candidate should show strong leadership skills, whilst having excellent empathy and understanding ofthe role.The role will report to the Director of Wealth Operations, and the key areas of the role are as follows:

  • Day to day management of Paraplanners
  • Tracking paraplanners competency and training needs
  • Running quarterly reviews for your direct reports
  • Perform end of year remuneration review meetings
  • Training team members and supporting their development
  • Produce and analyse management information
  • Actively manage and take responsibility for the performance to your team
  • Undertake peer reviews for the paraplanning team, provide feedback and identify areas for further training/development
  • Running and maintaining the Paraplanner bonus scheme
  • Getting involved in project work to further improve our systems and processes
  • Reviewing and documenting procedures
  • Maintaining templates and tools
  • Analyse client information and existing investments/plans
  • Maintain a level of paraplanning work to support as overflow for the team
  • Tax calculations (IHT/CGT/bonds etc)
  • Construct appropriate solutions for clients in conjunction with the advisers
  • Write suitability reports for cases of varying complexity
  • Run Cashflow models for clients
  • Be a point of contact for technical queries for clients and advisers
  • Communicating with clients on research and report time scales
  • Attend client meetings where required

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all work completed by yourself and your team is accurate and completed to a high standard
  • Work with the Paraplanners in your team to develop them and ensure they have the support they need to progress
  • Keep clear and up to date records relating to the management of your team
  • Ensure your team is hitting appropriate targets and deadlines
  • Take responsibility for the for the management information provided by your teams to ensure it is accurate and up to date.
  • Think client when you are writing a report to ensure the report is client friendly and easy to digest
  • Taking ownership of the clients experience by ensuring you effectively manage your case throughout the process

Essential attributes you should possess:

  • Demonstrate a strong technical knowledge and understanding of all financial products
  • Experience within the financial services industry and have had at least 5 years Paraplanning experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to communicate effectively with departments across the business as well as clients
  • Ensuring you are a good role model to other members of the team by being proactive and positive
  • Being comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment that experiences lots of developments and changes
  • Be organised and able to manage a busy workload
  • Being a good team player and offering to help the team where you can
  • Confident in running training sessions/meetings
  • Happy to share knowledge and experience with the wider team
  • Completed, or be well on their way to completing their Level 6 Advanced Diploma in regulated Financial Planning
  • Have strong IT skills; experience of Curo, FE Analytics and Voyant advantageous
  • Take responsibility for your own development including being aware of your knowledge gaps and actively working to close these gaps
