Sonic Summary

A client is seeking a Postgres DBA for a fully remote contract role, outside IR35, with a salary range of £500-£600 per day.
The initial contract duration is 1 month, with potential for continued part-time advisory work thereafter.
The successful candidate will conduct a full review of the current Postgres implementation and establish a maintenance plan for database health.
Key responsibilities include index maintenance, statistics maintenance, vacuum setup and configuration, and query optimization and monitoring.
Candidates should have relevant experience in Postgres, particularly with Azure, and a strong understanding of clustering and row-level security.

A client of mine have been implementing clustering through Postgres on Azure. They are currently experiencing issues when combining pgvector and row level security on a multi-partitional database.

So, they're now looking for someone to conduct a full review of their current implementation, set up a good running maintenance plan for keeping the DB healthy,

Index maintenance

Statistics maintenance

Vacuum setup and configuration

Query optimisation and monitoring.

This will be a fully remote, outside IR35 contract for about 1-month. There is then scope to be kept on part-time at an advisory level.
