An opportunity has arisen in the Public Affairs Unit at this world-renowned Charity based in Central London. The role is a contract position until the beginning of April.

Salary pro rota is £52,000 + holiday and bens.

Hybrid role with a 40 % split in the office

ROLE TO START ASAP

Key responsibilities

  • Lead The public affairs work, line managing two public affairs officers covering England, Scotland and Wales on issues such as homelessness, poverty and modern slavery.
  • Personally lead on our engagement with the Government and our digital campaigns.
  • Work closely with the policy manager and PR/media colleagues to advance the charity's public affairs activities.
  • Oversee all reputational matters which may arise through the charities' work at a local and national level.

You will need:

  • Experience in managing a team, ideally with some experience of managing colleagues not working on site.
  • Demonstrable experience in influencing public policy and engaging in high-level public debate.
  • Demonstrable excellent verbal and presentational skills with the proven ability to convey complex information, and advise/guide senior leadership effectively on political engagement, advocacy and campaigning matters.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, effective time management, and the ability to prioritize work, be able to respond to tight deadlines, use your own initiative and be confident about making decisions at a management level.
