About the Role

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our client's Protection Pricing team, playing a key role in supporting team leads and guiding junior colleagues. The role involves ensuring high-quality deliverables, technical expertise, and effective collaboration across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical specialist in pricing and biometric analysis, contributing to reinsurance pricing for protection products.
  • Oversee and validate team outputs, ensuring accurate data usage, robust experience analysis, and appropriate pricing assumptions.
  • Assist in responding to client queries, managing treaty updates, and supporting ongoing monitoring of treaty performance.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the financial implications of pricing decisions and balance business needs with risk management.
  • Build strong internal relationships and foster collaboration across teams.
  • Mentor and support junior team members in developing their technical and professional skills.
  • Identify and drive improvements to pricing tools and processes, leveraging emerging technologies.
  • Contribute to the review and development of protection assumptions and basis.
  • Collaborate with other teams on new product development and related initiatives.
  • Actively engage in discussions about team culture, organizational priorities, and broader initiatives.

What We're Looking For:We're looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and demonstrates a strong balance of technical expertise and collaborative skills. The ideal candidate will:

  • Bring experience in the UK life insurance market and a solid understanding of pricing processes, including experience analysis, assumption setting, and modelling.
  • Be confident analysing data, making informed decisions, and communicating results effectively to colleagues with varying levels of technical knowledge.
  • Be adept at building relationships with stakeholders at different levels and across functions.
  • Have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word, with additional experience in programming (e.g., R, Python, VBA) and tools like Power BI being a plus.
  • Possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
