This well regarded UK charity are seeking a passionate Public Affairs Manager to develop and lead their public affairs efforts and influencing strategy. The successful candidate will work with key external stakeholders and engage with various government officials to influence and inform policy

Description

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the charity's influencing strategy in regards to key policy areas
  • Work with ministers, MPs and civil servants effectively to ensure opportunities to maximise influence
  • Track and monitor policy developments
  • Attend APPGs, select committees and roundtables in parliament
  • Produce high-quality policy briefings, reports and consultation responses
  • Build relationships with key external stakeholders, including government departments and other not-for-profit organisations
  • Work collaboratively with other teams within the charity

Essential:

  • Ability to produce high quality, evidence based internal and external briefing materials under time constraints
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience building effective relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Excellent working knowledge of Westminster and Whitehall
  • Line-management experience
  • Experience developing influencing strategies and public affairs campaigns
