Public Affairs Officer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with UK Parliamentarians whilst identifying opportunities to engage with Ministers MPs and Civil Servants.
  • Lead the monitoring of UK parliamentary and political landscape keeping the team informed of relevant developments and engagement opportunities.
  • Support in the drafting of political briefings on key policy areas.
  • Lead engagement on behalf of the charity in a range of coalitions, networks and other organisations.
  • Contribute to the charity's campaigning activities.

Profile

Public Affairs Officer

Essential:

  • Excellent working knowledge of Westminster and Whitehall.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills with the ability to draft important documents, reports and briefings
  • Ability to translate complex information to a wide range of audiences.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and a willingness to help other teams when required.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, managing occasional heavy workloads and excellent time-keeping.
  • Demonstrable Public Affairs experience ideally from within the Charity sector
