Recovery Coordinator – Up to 27k

Dinardo Care & Supports Ltd are a long-established, leading supported housing organisation committed to enhancing the lives of residents with diverse mental health needs across South London, covering Sydenham, Catford, Lewisham, Peckham, and Upper Norwood. Your main base would be Sydenham Hill with a requirement to travel to other sites.

As we embark on a journey of growth, we have an exciting new opportunity for a Recovery Coordinator who has experience within Supported Housing to work within a team to plan and embed a diverse programme of ongoing activities for our residents to promote their physical, emotion and social wellbeing. 

Our goal is to support and encourage independence, reduce social isolation, and ensure the activity programme is person centred and conducive to overall recovery and rehabilitation.

About the Role of Recovery Coordinator:

·        Reporting to the Recovery Manager and working alongside other Coordinators and wider Management and support teams throughout our Units to ensure activity programmes are planned, resourced, and delivered as required.

·        Activities may include workshops, creative arts, therapeutic intervention, social events and always the primary focus is on recovery – whether it be mental health or drugs and alcohol related.

·        A number of our sites offer indoor and outdoor facilities and space for residents to undertake chosen activities so that residents have the opportunity to participate and have full involvement from different locations.

·        Participate in the introduction and delivery of new and ongoing activities as required.

·        Tenacity and patience to encourage ‘hard to reach’ residents to participate and be included in the activities programme.

·        Promote community partnership to broaden the activities offered.

·        Support on large resident events such as Recovery Month and world Mental Health Day

·        Work within allocated budgets per event/activity.

·        Seek feedback from residents, team members and other stakeholders to continually improve the activity programmes.

·        Work with a number of stakeholders to compile and communicate newsletters, posters and leaflets.

·        Ensure that activities comply with health and safety regulation/legislation and conduct activity risk assessments as required.

·        Adherence to Dinardos Safeguarding policies and identify/report any concerns.

·        Work on a rota basis with the teams so that activities are not restricted to certain days and are available at weekends as well as weekdays.

About You:

·        Previous experience of planning and delivery of activities and/or events.

·        Experience of dealing with people who have enduring mental health conditions.

·        Passion and enthusiasm to drive the activities to ensure successful outcomes for our residents.

·        Demonstrates empathy, kindness and a professional manner coupled with the ability to set boundaries as required.

·        Experience working in a supported Housing service/s.

·        Excellent planning and organisational skills.

·        Good IT skills including Word and Excel.

·        Excellent written and verbal communication.

·        Flexibility to travel between services as required to deliver activities.

·        A car driver would be preferable to drive between sites (mileage expenses will be paid).
