We are looking for a dedicated Refuge Worker to join our team and provide essential support to survivors as they rebuild their lives in safety.

About the Role

As a Refuge Worker, you will be at the heart of providing practical and emotional support to women and children in a safe and supportive environment. Your role will include:

  • Offering one-to-one support to residents, ensuring their individual needs are met.
  • Assisting with housing, benefits, and legal advocacy to help women move towards independence.
  • Facilitating group sessions and wellbeing activities.
  • Maintaining the smooth running of the refuge, including health and safety checks and safeguarding responsibilities.
  • Building strong relationships with external agencies to secure the best outcomes for residents.
About You

We are seeking a compassionate and proactive individual with:

  • Experience working with survivors of domestic abuse or within a refuge or similar setting.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment, and support planning.
  • Knowledge of housing rights, welfare benefits, and legal frameworks affecting survivors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
