Reporting to: Head of International

Protocol are working with a Higher Education Institution based in UAE who have now expanded to the UK and have two campuses located in London. They are seeking to appoint a Regional Head (India) who will lead on the student recruitment activity across India.

You will be sales-driven, and target focused and will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring cost effective annual recruitment strategies. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and have extensive experience of working in a student recruitment setting.

As Regional Head, you will be expected to build and manage a network of International Representatives, educational partners and recruitment channels across India.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement regional strategies for student recruitment, engagement, and university brand promotion. Identify new opportunities for growth and expansion within the region.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including high schools, educational consultants, community organisations, alumni, and local government bodies. Act as the primary point of contact for all regional partnerships and collaborations.
  • Student Recruitment: Lead the recruitment strategy to attract a diverse and talented pool of students from the region. Organize and participate in events such as education fairs, school visits, workshops, webinars, and community outreach programs.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a regional team of recruiters, coordinators, and support staff. Foster a collaborative, high-performing, and student-centerer culture. Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research to understand regional trends, preferences, and competitors. Provide insights and recommendations to the university's central admissions and marketing teams to refine strategies and messaging.
  • Marketing and Branding: Collaborate with the university’s marketing and communications teams to create region-specific marketing campaigns, digital content, and promotional materials that align with the university's brand and goals.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the regional budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources for recruitment and outreach activities. Monitor spending and ensure cost-effective practices.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of outreach and recruitment strategies. Provide regular reports and updates to the university's senior leadership on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all regional activities comply with university policies, as well as local and international regulations related to education and recruitment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in student recruitment, admissions, or marketing within higher education, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful recruitment strategies in diverse regions.
  • Strong understanding of the higher education sector, including knowledge of admissions processes, student needs, and regional education systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the region and occasionally to the university’s central office.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role, in Higher Education
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and growing a regional or national business.
  • Strong understanding of the Indian market dynamics, business practices, and regulatory environment.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing business needs.
