Totum Partners are working with a top law firm to hire a Legal Cashier for a Residual Balance Project. Reporting to the Compliance Cashier Control Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the firm meets its regulatory responsibilities around residual balances.

The ideal Residual Balance Cashier will be responsible for:

  • Investigate flagged files to understand outstanding balances determine ownership
  • Document findings in the Client Retentions master file and collaborate with Fee  earners
  • Escalate complex cases to the Compliance Cashier Control Manager
  • Providing a detailed review of findings
  • Follow up on outstanding matters
  • Keep records updated
  • Overseeing payments from the charity ledger
  • Monitor the residual balance mailbox

The ideal Residual Balane Cashier will have the following experience:

  • Experience working in a law firm, particularly handling residual balances
  • An interest in law firm finance, compliance, and risk
  • Strong analytical skills to assess financial data and resolve issues
  • Effective communication skills and a keen eye for detail
