Job Title: Safeguarding Lead

Location: Home-based, with occasional travel required to sites across the South East/ London and South West/Wales

Salary: 55,000-65,000

Hours: Monday-Friday 40 hours per week 8.30am-5pm

Contract Type: Permanent

Overview:
The Safeguarding Lead is responsible for overseeing and embedding safeguarding practices across the organisation, ensuring compliance with policies and legislation, and promoting the welfare of service users and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead safeguarding initiatives, ensuring a secure environment for service users.
  • Act as a primary contact for safeguarding, liaising with local authorities and police.
  • Oversee safeguarding concerns, referrals, and investigations.
  • Maintain compliance with GDPR, data protection, and safeguarding policies.
  • Coach and support staff on safeguarding protocols, legislation, and best practices.
  • Represent the organisation at meetings with authorities and stakeholders.
  • Ensure all training and induction materials are up-to-date.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a safeguarding leadership role with a strong knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including training, coaching, conducting 1-2-1 meetings, and KPI management.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality.
