TimePlan Education are looking for an exceptional part-time Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join our Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Southwark. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all our clients pupils thrive in a safe and supportive environment.
About the Role
- Location: Southwark PRU
- Hours: Part-time (3 or 4 days per week)
- Contract Type: Permanent
- Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main point of contact for safeguarding concerns, ensuring all policies and procedures are rigorously implemented.
- Support staff in identifying and managing child protection issues, providing expert advice and training.
- Work collaboratively with external agencies, including social care, health, and the police, to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
- Maintain meticulous records and ensure compliance with statutory safeguarding requirements.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and staff, fostering a culture of safety and inclusivity.
About You
You'll be:
- Experienced in safeguarding and child protection, ideally within an educational or alternative provision setting.
- A natural leader with a proven ability to manage complex and sensitive situations.
- Empathetic and resilient, with a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable young people.
- Skilled in building relationships and confident working with multi-agency teams.
- Familiar with statutory safeguarding frameworks and best practices.
