Job Title: Sample Assistant

Salary: £28k plus benefits

Hours: 9.30am to 5.30pm

Location: Chelsea

A leader in the interiors industry, known for their high-quality products and innovative designs. They are looking for a Sample Assistant to ensure the Sample Department operates efficiently and maintains the highest standards. This role is based at their prestigious showroom and offers a dynamic working environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Assist with sample requests generated by Account Managers both before and after their meetings.
  • Order samples from mills using email and the samples order system.
  • Manage the locating, picking, and organising of samples for orders.
  • Maintain sample stockroom and department organisation, including cutting, trimming, relabelling, and chaining samples as necessary.
  • Handle the use of a franking machine for stamping post packages and ensure timely preparation and delivery to the Post Room.
  • Manage the handling of Showroom Inventory displayed, including wrapping and arranging for delivery.
  • Oversee bookings for outgoing parcels via courier agents like FedEx, DHL, TNT, and handle the acceptance and unpacking of incoming deliveries.
  • Perform various housekeeping tasks around the showroom, such as repair work, hoovering, and tidying.
  • Assist in maintaining the showroom's high standard, including hanging up samples and preparing new products for weekly meetings.
  • Support in maintaining the Running Order and Location Register and handle the lifting and moving of heavy items with assistance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a showroom or design centre.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Physical ability to handle and move heavy items.
  • Familiarity with using email and order systems for sample requests.
