Our client, a prestigious independent school located in the heart of Hampstead, is seeking a dedicated and proactive School Caretaker to join their facilities team and ensure the smooth running of the school premises. This role is available for an immediate start.

As a School Caretaker, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, secure, and well-presented learning environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. You will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep, security, and general maintenance of the school, ensuring high standards at all times.

• Site Security - Opening and closing the school, ensuring all buildings are secure, setting alarms, and monitoring access.

• General Maintenance - Carrying out minor repairs, decorating, and liaising with contractors for larger works.

• Health & Safety Compliance - Conducting routine checks (fire alarms, emergency lighting, water testing), ensuring compliance with school policies and regulations.

• Cleaning & Waste Management - Supervising cleaning staff, ensuring cleanliness of school grounds, and managing waste disposal.

• Groundskeeping - Maintaining outdoor areas, ensuring pathways are clear and safe in all weather conditions.

• Support for School Events - Assisting with setting up for events, assemblies, and parent evenings.

We are looking for someone who is:

• Experienced in caretaking, facilities management, or a similar role.

• Proactive and hands-on, with strong problem-solving skills.

• Reliable and responsible, with excellent time management.

• Physically fit, as the role involves manual work and outdoor duties.

• Knowledgeable of health and safety regulations, including COSHH and fire safety (desirable).
