ANZUK is working with a school who is seeking a dedicated and experienced Science Cover Supervisor to join their dynamic team. This is a temporary position starting on 11th March 2025 and running until May Half-term 2025. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, teaching, and marking of science lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4, ensuring a high standard of education and student engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering high-quality science lessons to students across various year groups (Key Stage 3 and 4)
- Planning and preparing lessons in line with the curriculum
- Marking students' work, providing constructive feedback, and tracking progress
- Ensuring that students are engaged and motivated in their learning
- Managing classroom behavior effectively and maintaining a positive learning environment
- Supporting students of varying abilities and needs
- Collaborating with the science department and other staff to ensure smooth running of lessons
Essential Criteria:
- A strong background in science, with qualifications to support your knowledge and experience
- Prior experience in a teaching or support role, ideally in a secondary school setting
- A passion for science education and the ability to inspire students
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong classroom management abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school environment
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience of covering lessons in a teaching or cover supervisor capacity
- Knowledge of the national science curriculum and assessment requirements
