A warm and supportive family in Wandsworth (SW17) is looking for an experienced and qualified SEN nanny to provide dedicated care for their 7-year-old daughter. She attends Thomas's Clapham and has received multiple diagnoses over the years, including Coeliac disease, ADHD, and autism. This is a brand-new nanny position within the family, so they need someone who can guide them through the transition and provide much-needed support.G7 is a bright and engaging child who thrives with structure and understanding. Her mum has been caring for her full-time, navigating the complexities of her needs on her own, while her father, a lawyer, is often away due to work commitments. This has been an intense and demanding journey, and the family is now seeking a nanny who can step in as a vital source of support-not just for G7, but for Mum as well. They are looking for someone who can bring warmth, patience, and expertise into their home, becoming a valued part of their daily lives. The role will primarily involve helping with before and after-school routines, though the family is flexible on hours and happy to discuss what might work best. School finishes at 4 PM, and bedtime is usually between 8 and 9 PM, so the afternoons will be a key time for support. A nanny who can provide structure, assist with managing her additional needs, and create a calm and reassuring presence will be invaluable. There is also the potential for morning support before school, as well as additional hours during weekends, particularly when the family spends time in the Berkshire countryside. One of the most challenging aspects of G7's care is food. With her Coeliac diagnosis and sensory sensitivities, mealtimes require careful planning and preparation. The family needs a nanny who understands the complexities of dietary restrictions and is comfortable preparing meals that meet her needs while also being appealing to her. This will be a key part of the role, so confidence in the kitchen and an ability to adapt to her requirements is essential. While the day-to-day responsibilities will focus on G7's care, the nanny's presence in the household will also play a significant role in easing the emotional and practical load on Mum. This isn't a role where a nanny simply takes charge; rather, it's about stepping in as an additional layer of support, a trusted person who can help guide the family through the ever-evolving landscape of special needs parenting. They would love someone who can be a big-sister figure to G7-fun, kind, and engaging-while also being a reassuring and capable presence for Mum, who has shouldered the responsibility alone for so long.School holidays are still to be determined, as the family hasn't travelled in years but would love the possibility of doing so. A nanny who is open to occasional travel would be a fantastic addition to their plans, though nothing is set in stone just yet. The right person will be adaptable and willing to grow with the family, adjusting to their needs as they figure out what works best. This role requires a nanny with solid experience in SEN, particularly with ADHD, autism, and dietary management. The family needs someone who understands the unique challenges and joys that come with neurodivergence, who can bring expertise as well as empathy, and who is happy to become a true part of their lives rather than just an employee.
