About the SENCO Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our dedicated team. This is a part-time position (4 days a week) that involves working across two primary schools in the Wandsworth area that operate within a collaborative partnership. The role is primarily out of class, focusing on strategic and operational responsibilities to support pupils with special educational needs (SEN).

SENCO Key Responsibilities:

* SEN Coordination: Oversee and coordinate SEN provision across two schools, ensuring high-quality support for all pupils with special needs.
* Individual Support Plans: Develop, implement, and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) to meet the specific needs of each child.
* Staff Training: Provide training and support to staff on SEN best practices and intervention strategies.
* Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with external agencies, parents, and carers to ensure comprehensive support for SEN pupils.
* Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with statutory SEN legislation and maintain accurate records and reports on pupil progress.
* Resource Management: Manage SEN resources effectively, ensuring that the schools have the necessary materials and support in place.

SENCO Qualifications and Experience:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential for this role.
* SENCO Qualification: Desirable, or a commitment to complete within a specified timeframe.
* Experience: Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a primary school setting.
* Knowledge: In-depth understanding of SEN Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
* Skills: Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
