We are seeking a Senior SEN Officer for our public sector client based in London on an initial 3-month contract, paying up to £362 per day Inside IR35.

Hybrid working available.

Role Overview:

Under the leadership of the SEN Manager, you will manage a small team of Assessment and Case Coordinators, ensuring the local authority meets its statutory responsibilities for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in accordance with the Children and Families Act 2014. You will oversee either the 0-14 or 14-25 age group, providing expertise and leadership in SEND processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee transport eligibility decisions and appeals.

• Manage statutory SEND casework, including EHC plans and annual reviews.

• Ensure compliance with SEND Code of Practice (2015) and statutory timelines.

• Lead a team to deliver high-quality, person-centred SEND services.

• Work collaboratively with parents, carers, schools, and local authority teams.

• Use data and analytics to inform provision planning and service improvements.

• Support staff development and well-being, fostering a positive team culture.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong leadership and team management skills.

• In-depth knowledge of SEND legislation and statutory processes.

• Experience handling SEND appeals, complaints, and tribunal cases.

• Ability to engage with parents, carers, and young people effectively.

• Excellent organisational, analytical, and reporting skills.
