SEND Service Manager - London Borough Council

As the SEND Service Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the effective delivery of SEND services across multiple educational settings. You will work closely with schools, colleges, and other education providers to ensure that children and young people with SEND receive appropriate support and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of SEND professionals, providing guidance, support, and supervision.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve the quality and accessibility of SEND services.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, colleges, and external agencies to identify and address the needs of children and young people with SEND.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of SEND provision and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with SEND legislation, policies, and procedures including EHCPS and Annual Reviews
  • Provide training and professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their knowledge and skills in SEND.
  • Foster positive relationships with parents/carers and actively involve them in the decision-making process.
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments in SEND legislation and best practise.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of SEND, including relevant legislation and best practise.
  • Proven experience in managing SEND services within an educational setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • The ability to work independently and use your own initiative to drive improvement and achieve outcomes.
