TimePlan Education are seeking an experienced SEND Teacher to join a dedicated and compassionate team at a Special Needs School in Hackney, starting in January 2025. This school provides a nurturing environment where children with profound and multiple learning difficulties needs can thrive. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting students with additional needs and a strong background in SEND education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, tailored teaching for students with SEND needs in line with the curriculum.
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work closely with the SENCO and other professionals to develop and implement individualised support plans.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular reports to parents, carers, and staff.
  • Establish positive relationships with students to support their emotional and social development.
  • Manage challenging behaviours with sensitivity and consistency.
  • Contribute to whole-school strategies for promoting mental health and well-being.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with children with SEND in a primary school setting.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities that arise when working with SEND children.
  • Excellent behaviour management skills and a calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
  • The ability to adapt and differentiate teaching methods to suit individual learning needs.
  • A team player with strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
