Milk Education are in partnership with an Ofsted Outstanding School for children with profound, multiple and severe learning difficulties and are looking for a highly motivated SEND Teacher.

The successful  Teacher will work closely with their team to create an aspirational and exciting learning environment. The successful candidate will believe in the importance for students to achieve their full potential and offer a rich and stimulating curriculum that supports student learning in a well-established special school. This school offers a safe, positive and challenging environment for their pupils.

SEND Teacher roles & responsibilities:

  • To plan and lead a class team including multiple Teaching assistants in the classroom
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of the young people we support
  • Provide a nurturing approach that align with school values whilst promoting independence for students
  • Work with learners to ensure they receive a service that delivers the outcomes specified in their individualized learning. Person-centred plans
  • Work collaboratively with allied health professional as part of a trans-disciplinary team
  • To share corporate responsibility for the well-being and discipline of all pupils.
  • Any other duties that are a reasonable request from the Head Teacher

SEND Teacher must haves:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Evidence of good teaching of Early Years and/or teaching primary aged pupils.
  • Experience of SEND and a commitment to the education of pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties
  • Some knowledge of specialist assessments and interventions
  • Experience of developing and maintain positive & effective relationships with members of the diverse school community
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
