Join Fieldfisher as a Senior Bids Manager! We're seeking an experienced professional to lead strategic bids and serve as the first point of contact for UK practices. In this pivotal role, you'll act as a project manager and "expert advisor" on global bids, collaborating with international BD colleagues to maintain high-quality outputs across our network.
Reporting to the Head of Bids and Operations, you'll oversee bid resources and enhance team efficiencies. Our Business Development & Marketing team, with 40+ members, drives profitable revenue through client programs. The Bids team, at the core of work-winning development, is committed to helping partners succeed without sacrificing work-life balance.

What You'll Do
- Manage the production of winning tenders for major multi area and key targets, and existing client bids and proposals for a range of our clients and prospects
- Lead UK tenders from initial opportunity through to drafting, submission, post submission feedback, and reporting
- Project lead global bids, coordinating activities by international partners and Business Development colleagues.
- Understand all elements of a quality submission and ensure responses correctly and fully address the needs of the client
- Identify individual evaluation criteria for each tender and explain this to key stakeholders, particularly concerning pricing.
- Design compelling presentations and work with Head of Bids and Operations to prepare key staff for interviews.
- Undertake post-pitch feedback interviews with clients.
- Produce tender analysis and report on themes from client feedback.
- Maintain an up-to-date bid library and team reporting.
What We're Looking For:
- Extensive experience gained in professional services, preferably legal
- Proven experience in a similar role with a strong track record of success
- Powerful and effective writing and project management skills
- Experience working in an international environment, alongside international team and partners
- Problem solver
- Excellent team working skills
- Commercial awareness & confidence to deal with challenging fee earners to deliver advice that will improve success
- Able to multitask, be proactive, prioritise and work to deadlines
- Must come with a strong sense of humour, a strong work ethic and a desire to demonstrate high quality
