Southwark Council is seeking an experienced Senior Early Help Practitioner to support vulnerable families and improve outcomes for children. You will lead on whole-family assessments, develop SMART plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions. Acting as the lead professional, you will coordinate multi-agency support, manage a complex caseload, and supervise less experienced staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage families to drive sustainable change.
  • Assess risk factors such as school attendance, health, and safeguarding issues.
  • Develop and review whole-family plans with SMART objectives.
  • Work with schools, health professionals, and social care teams.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and expertise in early intervention.

Requirements:

  • Level 5/Degree qualification or significant experience in family work.
  • Strong knowledge of early intervention, safeguarding, and child development.
  • Experience managing caseloads, multi-agency collaboration, and staff supervision.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including some evenings/weekends.
