Our client is seeking a Senior Human Factors Specialist Initial 12 Month contract and the position will require 3 days per week in Salisbury.This position will be require active SC.What you'll be doing:

  • Lead the integration of risk management to incorporate Human Factors issues, by:
  • Development of Human Factors policy, procedures and guidance
  • Human Factors risk assessments (Safety Critical Task Analysis) for activities that could result in major accidents.
  • Research and policy initiatives which involve Human Factors
  • Undertake Human Factors training and awareness raising activities, including the development, production, design and delivery of new Human Factors training courses and materials and providing support to trainee Human Factors specialist(s)
  • Support investigation of incidents, dangerous occurrences and near miss investigations
  • To develop and maintain links with Human Factor professionals in other organisations and relevant professional bodies

Essential:

  • Chartered Member of Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors
  • Experience in Safety Critical Task Analysis in high hazard facilities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Practical experience and understanding of managing risks in high hazard environments

Desirable:

  • Experience of working on a site regulated under Control of major accident hazard regulations (or equivalent e.g. MACR)
  • Experience of working in other high hazard industrial or research industries
  • Awareness of the impact of human factors with regard to environmental protection
