Our client are seeking a Senior Royalties Analyst to join a busy and evolving royalties team, supporting new authors as they transition following a recent acquisition. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that ensures royalty payments are accurate, timely, and handled with precision.  This role includes accurately inputting and maintaining contractual information in the royalty system, preparing royalty statements, and responding to internal and external queries. You’ll work closely with departments such as Royalties Accounting, Contracts, Editorial, and Transactional Finance and play a key role in delivering process improvements as the team transitions to a new royalty system.  Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately input contractual information into the royalty system and maintain up-to-date records.
  • Prepare yearly and half-yearly royalty statements.
  • Review the work of Royalty Assistants, including contract setup, payment details, and process accuracy.
  • Resolve escalated queries from authors, illustrators, agents, and internal teams in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct month-end and year-end analysis.
  • Manage and interpret complex exceptions from reports and prepare sales adjustments.
  • Support interim and year-end audit work, identifying and resolving audit-related issues.
  • Assist with the integration of acquisitions into the royalty system.
  • Play a key role in implementing a new Biblio royalty system, contributing to process improvements and supporting project success.
  • Identify and propose ideas for improving processes and controls.
  • Handle ad-hoc tasks and projects as needed.
  About you
  • Royalty Expertise: In-depth knowledge of royalty contracts and sub-rights, with experience in royalties essential.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills are required, with knowledge of KEA and Biblio systems being advantageous.
  • Tax Knowledge: Understanding of US tax forms and withholding tax rules.
  • Communication Skills: Professional and clear communication, both written and verbal, with the ability to build strong relationships with authors, illustrators, and agents.
  • Time Management: Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Detail-Oriented: Accurate data entry and thorough record-keeping skills.
