- Administer and manage the SQL Server and PaaS estate across live and non-live environments.
- Perform database performance analysis and tuning.
- Develop and enforce best practices in database management.
- Collaborate with data development, Infosec, and Infrastructure teams.
- Plan and execute database capacity strategies.
- Ensure high availability and security standards across the database infrastructure.
- Provide technical support to developers and end users.
- Lead database-related projects, including upgrades and migrations.
- Automate processes using tools such as SPADE and DBATools.
- Participate in on-call and disaster recovery support rotations.
- Proficiency in SQL Server versions 2016/2017/2019/2022 (Enterprise, Standard, and Express).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-resolution skills.
- Experience with SQL Server Availability Groups and performance tuning.
- Proficiency in SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS administration and deployment.
- Knowledge of replication techniques, CDC, table tracking, partitioning, and auditing.
- Ability to design and implement database platforms, including capacity planning, patching, and migrations.
- Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Basic understanding of PowerShell scripting.
- Exposure to SQL Azure DevOps (CI/CD, Repos, Pipelines).
- Familiarity with non-relational databases like Cosmos DB.
- Experience in high availability environments and cloud platforms like Azure.
