Server Engineer
Our Client is looking for a skilled IT Server Engineer to join their dynamic team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimisation of our server infrastructure. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to contribute to the reliability and performance of our IT systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and manage physical and virtual servers, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimise systems for efficiency and security.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups to maintain server integrity.
- Assist with the design and implementation of server architecture and solutions.
- Provide support for server-related issues, including storage and network performance.
- Implement and manage virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure server and network integration and functionality.
- Document processes, configurations, and server infrastructure changes.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Server Engineer or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP) and storage technologies.
- Familiarity with server security, patch management, and performance tuning.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and in a team.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
