SOC Engineer

Robert Half is collaborating with a leading global consulting firm to recruit a SOC Engineer for an experienced SOC Engineer to enhance and optimise their Security Operations Centre (SOC). This role is highly technical and hands-on, requiring a security operations and engineering specialist to improve SOC processes, alert tuning, security automation, and overall efficiency.

Contract Assignment Details:

• Location: Remote with flexibility to be able to be in London office
• Duration: Initially 3-6 months Contract
• Rate: £600 per day (via PAYE) plus accrued holiday pay at 12.07%

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and optimise SOC operations, including alerting systems, threat detection rules, and response workflows.
• Implement SIEM tuning, log correlation improvements, and security automation to enhance detection capabilities.
• Improve data-driven security engineering approaches within the SOC.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to reduce alert noise, increase efficiency, and enhance security tooling.
• Provide hands-on expertise in threat detection, incident response, and continuous SOC improvement.
• Work closely with security teams across Europe region to align SOC operations.

Key Requirements:

• Strong experience as a SOC Engineer with hands-on expertise in security operations and engineering.
• Deep technical knowledge of SIEM tools, threat detection, automation, and log analysis.
• Experience in optimising SOC workflows, refining detection logic, and tuning security alerts.
• Familiarity with data-driven security methodologies and analytics-based SOC enhancements.
• A proactive problem-solver who can work independently and drive improvements.
