Are you an experienced SQL Developer looking for a new opportunity in the Insuretech industry? Our client, a leading provider of solutions for the insurance industry, is seeking a talented SQL Developer to join their team in London.

With a strong focus on data management, their combined product offering improves operational efficiencies, addresses compliance and regulatory burdens, and drives innovation in the insurance industry.

As an SQL Developer, you will have the opportunity to design, code, verify, test, and implement software solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, building, and refactoring SQL and reporting code using best practises and industry standards.
  • Reviewing and debugging code to ensure quality and performance.
  • Implementing unit tests and system tests to ensure software reliability.
  • Identifying and resolving bottlenecks and bugs.
  • Estimating workload based on acceptance criteria.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience as an SQL Developer.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with design and architectural patterns.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Experience in Source Code Management, Continuous Integration, and Test Automation.

Technical skills required:

  • T-SQL
  • Microsoft SSIS
  • Microsoft SSRS
  • Distributed source control systems (Git, Mercurial, etc.)
  • Microsoft Power BI or other Data Visualisation tools (desirable)
  • SSAS (desirable)
  • Jira (desirable)

In addition to the technical requirements, soft skills such as effective communication, workload management, and the ability to work as part of a team are essential. If you have experience mentoring junior team members, this would be a plus.
