UPS Engineer - London & South-East

Please note that possession of a valid UK driving license is a mandatory requirement for this role, as it involves frequent travel and client visits.

Summary:
The position will be accountable for working within critical power environments for large organisations, across a wide customer base, demonstrating excellent communication and complete ownership of given tasks.

These tasks will include commissioning and start-up on new installed equipment, maintenance, service, and repair activities on a variety of different UPS solutions.

This position is responsible to provide professional services for customers and technical support/training for service partners, including technical site analysis to resolve customer issues and to perform field service duties on the complete range of
electrical distribution products and solutions.

Your daily task and responsibilities:

  • Perform Start-up/Commissioning, Preventive Maintenance and Corrective/Unscheduled Maintenance on all Secure Power UPS equipment.
  • Participate and lead in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Perform consulting services at customer sites as well as over the phone.
  • Work with customers, contractors, service partners, other members of the team, Sales Partners, Tech Support, and Manager to resolve escalated problems.
  • Document all required information for each site visit performed.
  • Manage installation projects as well as unit replacement when necessary.
  • Properly document, label, and return all defective parts utilized in the repair of equipment to the designated disposal/repair location.
  • Educate customers on basic operation of their equipment. Inform customers of issues which they may have experience with their equipment in a way which is beneficial to the customer.
  • Must comply with all safety policies, practices, procedures, and cybersecurity
  • 7x24 Field Service availability when assigned


Your education and experience:

  • 2-5 years' experience within UPS industry or similar.
  • Professional technical bachelor or equivalent by experience
  • Knowledge of electricity/electronics
  • Strong and demonstrable customer skills
  • Safety mindset
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office and being computer literate
