Red Sky Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a major contractor responsible for delivering large-scale infrastructure projects. This company is renowned for its expertise in complex station and transport interchange construction and is leading a key part of one of the largest infrastructure projects in the UK. They are committed to innovation, sustainability, and achieving excellence in quality, safety, and collaboration.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the planning, management, and coordination of the steelwork structure construction and its associated subcontractors. This role requires a hands-on approach in leading the Superstructure team and working collaboratively to meet construction targets, ensuring high-quality standards, safety compliance, and sustainability throughout the project lifecycle.

The successful candidate will report to the Superstructure Senior Project Manager (SPM) and provide leadership in managing the Superstructure and Envelop team, including the supply chain, in line with the Construction Management Plan. This role is key to ensuring the effective delivery of the project, fostering a collaborative environment, and maintaining an uncompromising commitment to health and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive reports on Superstructure and Concourse progress, including actual costs, forecasts, and resolutions for any issues.
  • Coordinate construction, design, procurement, and commercial teams to ensure the timely award and commencement of subcontracts.
  • Build and lead a high-performing Superstructure team through clear SMART targets and performance management.
  • Facilitate collaboration across the team and supply chain to promote a harmonious working environment.
  • Ensure adherence to client instructions, managing all levels of authority and contractual communication.
  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship with a focus on delivering defect-free work and continuous improvement.
  • Uphold HS2 standards for health, safety, and sustainability across the project.

Technical Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of Health & Safety regulations including CDM 2015 and NEC contract management.
  • Proven leadership in team building and project controls, with the ability to deliver projects within budget.
  • Proficiency in BIM, AutoCAD, and other collaborative platforms.

Qualifications, Certifications & Experience

  • Degree or equivalent in a numerate discipline (HNC/HND considered with relevant experience).
  • Membership of an appropriate professional body or equivalent professional status.
  • CSCS card and Senior Manager Safety training.
  • Significant experience in complex station/transport infrastructure projects, including piling and reinforced concrete.
  • Experience working with major infrastructure clients such as TfL or similar organisations.
