Technical Accounting Lead, VC backed Global Fin-Tech, London, 85-90k

We are working with a market leading, VC backed Fin-tech who are looking for a Technically astute finance manager to join the team.

With over 80 million product users, they are a trail-blazer within the Fin-tech space. This role actively supports the commercial deals and transactions from a technical accounting standpoint.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure transactions, commercial structures, new products, and key business events are accurately reflected in their financial reporting.
  • Roll out new reporting standards and ensure smooth integration within the business.
  • Partner with the central accounting team to deliver polished external reports, such as annual and interim financial statements.
  • Take the lead in refining and streamlining commercial accounting processes and structures.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to structure deals and contracts efficiently.
  • Dive deep into technical research on complex transactions, providing strategic accounting advice.
  • Manage month-end close activities, including profitability analyses.
  • Assist in preparing financial statement disclosures, keeping everything IFRS-compliant.
  • Liaise with auditors to ensure audits run like clockwork.
  • Drive and support ad-hoc projects, taking the initiative to make real change.
  • Train and guide stakeholders on new policies and complex accounting issues.
  • Design and implement controls and processes around commercial deals, ensuring full regulatory compliance.

Essentials:

  • ACA/ CA qualified who trained within a top-tier practice
  • 4+ years of post qualified experience
  • Significant experience with accounting standards, in particular; IFRS 2, IFRS 9, IFRS 15
  • Solution-oriented technical accountant with a commercial mindset

Desirables:

  • Experience working within a Fin-Tech, Payments or Banking organisation
