A highly regarded law firm is seeking an experienced Trade Mark Solicitor to join its well-established intellectual property team. The firm has a strong reputation for providing commercially focused legal advice across a range of sectors, with a particular emphasis on intellectual property, media and brand protection.
The team operates within a fast-paced and collaborative environment, working with high-profile clients to protect and enforce their intellectual property rights. Due to continued growth and an increasing workload, the firm is looking to expand its trade mark offering in the UK and Europe.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Trade Mark Solicitor at Associate level (4-7 PQE) to join a highly respected team. The successful candidate will work alongside an established partner and an experienced group of solicitors, attorneys, and paralegals, providing expert advice on brand protection and trade mark portfolio management.
The role will involve handling complex trade mark matters, including filings, opposition and enforcement work, and advising on trade mark strategy for clients across various industries. The firm offers a hybrid working model, with at least three days per week required in the office.
Responsibilities
- Advising clients on trade mark availability, registration and protection strategies
- Conducting comprehensive clearance searches and assessing potential conflicts
- Managing trade mark portfolios, including filings, renewals and enforcement
- Drafting and reviewing legal documents related to trade mark registration, licensing and disputes
- Representing clients in trade mark proceedings before UK and international authorities
- Providing strategic advice on branding, marketing and IP protection
- Ensuring compliance with trade mark laws and managing renewals
- Supervising and mentoring junior team members and paralegals
- Assisting with business development initiatives to grow the trade mark practice
Requirements
- 4-7 years' post-qualification experience as a Trade Mark Solicitor
- Experience gained in a reputable trade mark practice or IP-focused firm
- Strong knowledge of UK and EU trade mark laws and procedures
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise workloads effectively
- A commercial mindset with the ability to provide strategic advice to clients
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor junior team members
- Willingness to participate in business development and networking activities
