Overview of the Role

  • Complete Take-offs - Accurately measure and quantify materials needed for projects.
  • Send Out Tender Enquiries - Distribute inquiries to suppliers and subcontractors to gather pricing information.
  • Document Control - Manage and organize all tender and project-related documents.
  • Obtain Best Price Quotations - Source competitive quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Interpret Specification and Technical Documentation - Understand and apply project specifications and technical requirements.
  • Inputting into Cypher Estimating Software - Use estimating software to input and manage data.
  • Reporting to the Estimating Manager - Provide regular updates and reports to the Estimating Manager.
  • Attend Client Meetings to Discuss Our Offer - Present and discuss estimates and proposals with clients.
  • Update and Improve Processes - Continuously seek to improve estimating processes and procedures.
  • Developing Cost Plans - Create cost plans in line with tender requirements, contract sum analysis (CSA), or bill of quantities (BoQ).
  • Attend Site Visits - Conduct site visits to gather necessary information for estimates.- Producing Estimates Simultaneously - Manage and produce multiple estimates at the same time.

The Candidate:

  • Experience - Positions suitable for time-served electricians (Gold Card) with technical knowledge or those already in a similar role.
  • Skills - Excellent numerical skills and proficiency in written and oral English (at least A-C GCSE level)
  • Abilities - Ability to work under instruction, as part of a team, and on their own initiative.
  • Computer Literacy - Good level of computer literacy, particularly in Excel, Outlook, and Word. Knowledge of Cypher (estimating software) and Procore is advantageous
  • Communication - Strong communicator with an organized and methodical approach to work Attention to Detail - High level of attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
