We are recruiting for a Treasurer Trustee to join our team of Trustee's.

Trustees oversee Refuge’s governance, compliance, strategy and planning.  Our watchwords are openness, inclusion, challenge and support in equal measure, and we bring a range of different experiences, professional backgrounds and skillsets to this vital work. The Treasurer is a specialist trustee role, working closely with the Chair of Trustees, the Chief Executive and Director of Corporate Services.

About you

We’d love to hear from senior finance, audit and risk professionals with knowledge and expertise in:

  • Working with the Board to develop a medium-term financial strategy that ensures we use our limited resources to deliver our mission and strategic purpose. This will include overseeing long-term financial performance and managing risk in a complex organization with a breadth of services and multiple sources of income.

Sector background is less important than the ability to work collaboratively with others, focus on the important issues and offer sound judgement and advice

We value your time. Our Trustee Board meets six times a year (including two strategy days), with four meetings a year usually taking place in London. You will also be a member of our Audit & Risk and Resources sub-committees, which meet four times a year. 

Please note that expenses are reimbursed.
