Business Development Manager - UK Property InsuranceReinsurerCity of London

I am currently recruiting for a leading Reinsurer who are seeking a Business Development Manager to join their expanding team!

This role will not be actively underwriting - it will be taking the lead of managing stakeholders and handling renewals with all participating members. An element of assessing risks that the business reinsure will also be involved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Pricing team to ensure that premiums are appropriately set based on the level of risk and market conditions.
  • Monitor and analyse claims data to identify trends and provide recommendations for underwriting improvements.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry developments, market trends, and regulatory changes related to Terrorism insurance.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior underwriters and support staff on technical aspects of Terrorism underwriting.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with reinsurers, brokers, and other stakeholders in the Terrorism insurance market.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of underwriting guidelines and policies to enhance the profitability and sustainability of the Terrorism portfolio.
  • Participate in industry events, conferences, and working groups to stay informed about emerging risks and best practices in Terrorism underwriting.
  • Conduct regular reviews of underwriting practices and procedures to ensure compliance with internal guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for growth and expansion within the Terrorism insurance market and develop strategies to capitalise on them.
  • Support the Head of Underwriting in strategic decision-making and long-term planning for the Terrorism portfolio.
