We are currently seeking a talented VAT Manager to join a small but expanding VAT Consultancy team. This dynamic team of specialists supports a diverse range of clients, including corporate businesses, charities, and individuals, navigating various VAT rules and rates.
About the Role: As a VAT Manager, you will provide expert advice on indirect taxation matters, helping to drive the growth of our corporate VAT offerings. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and reviewing complex VAT returns and annual adjustments, often involving partial exemptions and apportionments.
- Preparing voluntary declarations for VAT.
- Conducting VAT health checks on client activities and preparing detailed reports with findings and recommendations.
- Advising on VAT liability queries, including transaction treatments and place of supply issues.
- Providing guidance on property-related VAT matters, such as new builds, capital goods schemes, and options to tax.
- Responding to ad hoc inquiries from clients and team members on various VAT issues.
- Contributing to VAT team publications and undertaking training sessions for clients and staff.
- Identifying potential work sources from existing and new clients and exploring cross-selling opportunities.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- CTA and/or AIIT qualifications (part qualified, qualified, or qualified by experience).
- Experience in planning and structuring VAT advice for transactions within the corporate sector.
- A strong understanding of various VAT issues faced by clients.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex issues to clients, colleagues, and HM Revenue & Customs.
- A positive attitude, approachability, and a desire to support team members and pursue professional growth.
