Year 6 Teaching Assistant - Walthamstow, Waltham Forest
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting KS2 pupils? Do you have the skills to help Year 6 students reach their full potential in the lead-up to SATs? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 6 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Walthamstow, Waltham Forest. This full-time role starts in February 2025 and offers a starting daily pay rate of £90-£95 PAYE.
The Role:
As a Year 6 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils through their final year of primary education.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom activities.
- Providing targeted support to pupils, including those who may need additional help with literacy and numeracy.
- Running small intervention groups to reinforce key learning objectives and boost confidence ahead of SATs.
- Offering pastoral support to ensure students feel motivated and engaged in their learning.
- Helping to maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all children can thrive.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience supporting KS2 pupils, ideally in a Year 6 setting.
- A good understanding of the KS2 curriculum and SATs preparation.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting students with different learning needs.
- A genuine passion for education and helping young learners succeed.
