Role responsibilities:
Communications:
- Produce and implement a new communications strategy to support the organisation's aims.
- Deliver regular high-quality multimedia content across all our digital channels including social media, newsletters and our website. That includes blogs, photography, info graphics and video.
- Be the first point of contact for media relations and responding to enquiries, and handling any crisis comms and responses.
- Manage the maintenance and upkeep of our website.
- Manage the organisation's branding, ensuring consistency of message, tone and design across all internal and external materials.
- Lead campaigns on multiple external communication channels.
- Work with both the Senior Management and Leadership Teams to deliver internal communications through the organisation's intranet and internal newsletters.
Fundraising:
- Manage the fundraising and communications team, empowering them to achieve their targets in line with the Fundraising and Communications strategies.
- Identify new opportunities for partnership and the expansion of our charitable activities.
- Produce and implement a new development strategy to support our operational aims meet our income generation targets.
- Identify and maintain long-term relationships with local partners that generate income and support our community work.
- Oversee the delivery of annual fundraising campaigns including our Christmas appeal.
- Oversee grant and tendering portals, recommending opportunities for new business to the Senior Management Team.
- Support the fundraising team to manage a portfolio of fundraising challenge events.
- Manage relationships with corporate partners, trusts and foundations.
Skills and experience:
- Excellent track record of successful project and team management in both fundraising and communications.
- Track record of relationship development and maintenance to achieve organisational fundraising or communications targets.
- Relevant degree, professional qualification/membership, or significant experience in charity fundraising or business development.
- Experience of direct report management.
- Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal and presentational skills, including influencing and negotiating with key stakeholders both internal and external at all levels of seniority.
- Professional experience using social media.
- Ability to interpret information and produce reports that can be understood by a range of audiences.
