Salary: £38,000-£42,000 (depending on experience)

Our client is looking for an Operating Department Practitioner with at least 6-months UK experience.

The post holder will be based at a private hospital in the Theatres department and will:

  • Must be a qualified nurse or ODP
  • Must be registered with the NMC or HCPC with an up-to-date PIN number with no restrictions
  • Assist in the routine daily planning and organisation of the theatres for clinical procedures and practice and participate in the department’s administration as required.

Main Duties:

  • Maintain individualised nursing/ODP care according to guidance provided by the senior nursing/ODP staff, management and consultants.
  • Provide assistance to the surgeon/anaesthetist/nursing/ODP colleagues as required.
  • Administration of controlled drugs.
  • Work alongside appropriate departmental and ward staff in sending patients to the operating department and returning patients to their wards.
  • Participating in pre and post-operative visits when required.
  • The post holder will be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of how to use equipment safely and effectively.
