School Science Technician

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join the vibrant school we are working with, as a Science Technician.

About Us: Madison Reign is dedicated to providing excellent opportunities, to good candidates, who seek to work in a school. The secondary school has state-of-the-art laboratories and dedicated faculty that create an environment where students can engage with practical experiments, discover scientific principles, and develop critical thinking skills (long term until July 2026, onwards).

Role and Responsibilities: As a School Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the science department by ensuring the smooth operation of their laboratories and assisting teachers and students during practical sessions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and setting up laboratory equipment and materials for science experiments.
  • Assisting teachers and students during laboratory sessions, providing guidance on proper equipment usage and safety protocols.
  • Maintaining and organizing laboratory supplies, chemicals, and specimens.
  • Calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment to ensure accurate results and safety.
  • Managing inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and maintaining a safe laboratory environment.
  • Collaborating with teachers to develop and improve experiment setups.
  • Providing technical support for special projects and events related to the science curriculum.
  • £14 - £16 phr

Qualifications: To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • A degree or diploma in a relevant scientific discipline.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Prior experience as a science technician or in a similar role is a plus.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service, or in date 2025
