Conservation Architect Job in Chiswick, London

An esteemed heritage and conservation practice with a rich history has a Conservation Architect job available for their London office, located in Chiswick. The team is engaged in a diverse array of projects, reflecting their long-standing reputation in the field.

Founded in the 1940s, this practice has an extensive portfolio encompassing residential properties, marketplaces, public monuments, and places of worship. With successful growth leading to the establishment of three offices and a robust team of specialists, they are now looking to enhance their London team with the addition of a Conservation Architect.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Mentor junior staff and assist with the day-to-day operations of the practice
  • Lead the creation and development of detailed drawings and written documentation
  • Attend client meetings across the UK
  • Share expertise in historical architecture and conservation within the team
  • Provide specialist advice on pre-application and planning applications
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, contractors, and specialists.

Required Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in UK conservation and historic building projects
  • Strong eye for historic design and thorough understanding of contractual procedures
  • Experience in historical report writing and technical knowledge
  • Proven experience in restoration work on listed buildings
  • CA/SCA RIBA; AABC; or equivalent would be desirable
  • Full or Associate Member of the IHBC would be desirable
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Photoshop
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the planning process and familiarity with relevant environmental/heritage legislation and guidance.
