Course Director – Business Management

We are seeking a Course Director for Business Management to oversee the teaching, curriculum development, and delivery of the Business Management and Business Management and Entrepreneurship courses at our prestigious institution. This role is pivotal in creating engagement and retention for students from the Foundation year through to levels 4, 5, and 6. The successful candidate will lead a diverse team to create holistic learning experiences that ensure student retention, progression, and completion.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Set, promote, and maintain high educational and professional standards in teaching, delivery, and curriculum development.
  • Manage general course responsibilities including lesson planning, teaching, curriculum development, assessment, admissions, and administration.
  • Provide academic and pastoral support to students, monitor their progress, and maintain appropriate records.
  • Maintain strong industry links and stay updated with developments in the business management field.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and review, and develop cross-disciplinary teaching strategies with the academic team.
  • Lead course team meetings, coordinate projects, and promote the exchange of ideas across specialist areas to enhance student experiences.
  • Produce annual course monitoring reports and ensure continuous improvement and development of the courses.
  • Manage the overall programme of teaching and assessment, including liaison with staff teams.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of college-wide policies and initiatives related to teaching and learning.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Relevant BA and postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional experience.
  • Teaching qualification (PG Cert or equivalent) - candidates will be expected to complete a PGCERT in education during their employment if not already qualified.
  • Fellowship (or Higher) of the Higher Education Academy.
  • Demonstrable experience in teaching & assessment in a Higher Education environment.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage educational aspects such as curriculum, quality standards, and student recruitment.
  • Strong professional networks and relationships that enhance student learning, employment, and enterprise opportunities.
  • Excellent planning, management, and communication skills, adaptable to a diverse learning environment.
