Our client a leading College is recruiting for a Curriculum Head - Inclusive Learning to join the team permanently. This Curriculum Head - Inclusive Learning role involves managing teachers and support staff in a curriculum area, ensuring students receive high-quality teaching and regular feedback.

You’ll oversee various academic programs, aligning them with career pathways and the institution’s strategic priorities. Collaboration with departments such as student services, learner support, and employer engagement is key to helping students achieve qualifications and progress to employment or further studies.

Main responsibilities

  • Line manage teachers and support staff, ensuring smooth daily operations and an adaptive curriculum that meets the needs of students, employers, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure an inclusive and innovative curriculum across levels 1-4 for youth, adults, and apprentices.
  • Plan and manage courses, ensuring alignment with best practices and national standards, promoting student progression to university, further training, or employment.
  • Monitor student attendance and performance, implementing proactive support to maintain high standards.
  • Continuously improve the quality of vocational subjects, English, and math provision.
  • Ensure high-quality course materials and accessible resources are available to all students.
  • Set and monitor recruitment, retention, and achievement targets, working closely with the Marketing & Recruitment team.
  • Organise area operations and manage team performance through regular meetings and appraisals.
  • Promote consistency in student assessment and compliance with institutional policies.

Person Specification

  • Experience of curriculum planning and effective deployment of staff and other resources
  • Strong understanding of diversity and inclusion.
  • Ability to engage effectively with external stakeholders.
  • Strong track record of meeting deadlines.
  • A successful teaching background. A record of good or outstanding teaching and learning.
  • Experience of curriculum planning and effective deployment of staff and other resources.
  • Knowledge and understanding of funding streams and methodologies
  • Experience of implementing quality improvement processes leading to Measurable improvements

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification
  • Teaching qualification (DTTLS, PGCE, Cert Ed)
  • A Management Qualification (Desirable)
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD)
  • Experience of liaising with awarding organisations and ensuring high standards in assessment and verification development (CPD)
