The Role:As Deputy Headteacher, you will support the Headteacher in the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the school. You will lead on key areas such as curriculum development, teaching and learning, staff development, and pupil progress. Key Responsibilities:-
Support the Headteacher in providing strong, visionary leadership and strategic direction.

Drive high standards of teaching, learning, and pupil achievement across the school.

Lead on curriculum development and assessment strategies to enhance pupil progress.

Oversee the professional development of staff, ensuring high-quality training and support.

Promote a culture of safeguarding, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing.

Foster positive relationships with pupils, parents, staff, governors, and the wider community.

Assist in school self-evaluation, development planning, and quality assurance processes.

Take a key role in behaviour management and pastoral care, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment.

Deputise for the Headteacher in their absence, ensuring continuity in leadership.
Essential:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with significant leadership experience in a primary school setting.

A strong track record of raising standards in teaching, learning, and pupil outcomes.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

A deep understanding of the primary curriculum, assessment, and pedagogy.

Experience in staff development and performance management.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

The ability to inspire and motivate both staff and pupils.
Desirable:

NPQH (National Professional Qualification for Headship) or NPQSL (National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership).

Experience working in an urban primary school setting.

Proven ability to lead change and school improvement initiatives.

Strong understanding of school finance and resource management.
